Being one of the few matches to survive the big freeze, Haven's first team took on Windscale's first team in a match that would see Haven top the table, undefeated before Christmas.

Whitehaven squash club had several juniors participating in the Wigton U11 and U13 competition and had some excellent results.

All three Haven teams were involved in 3-2 thrillers. Haven A team beat Dalton A, Haven B lost to Wigton B and Haven C lost to Kendal A.

Whitehaven Junior squash club had 12 of its members competing in the recent County Junior championships held at Carlisle Squash club. With the event running the new Monrad ranking format over two days (which was not without a few teething problems along the way), all 12 players came away with a county ranking position.

Whitehaven Junior Squash Club returned from a successful weekend in Carlisle with two new county champions. It was the Cumbria Junior County Closed Competition and Whitehaven had ten entries altogether in differing age groups.

Whitehaven will be entering four teams into the county leagues this season and all four are optimistic about what they can achieve. The A team are in the Premier League, the B team in division one and the C team in division two. The womens team are continuing to battle on in the only womens league.
